Possesives
Possessives are tools we have in English that help us show possesion or which helps you to express
that you or someone else has something.
There are 3 types of possessive parts of speech that you will come across.
These are:
Possessive Nouns
Possessive Adjectives
and Possessive Pronouns
Lets start with the nouns.
To make any noun possessive simply add " 's " to any singular word or " s' " for any plural nouns.
Example
The leopard's meat lay lodged in the tree.
The arctic is the penguins' home.

And finally we have possesive pronouns. These words are shown here:
Mine

The table shows how both possessive adjectives and possesive pronouns change depending on the personal pronoun as a subject.
Example
I know that, that box is mine.
If I am speaking about 'I' as the subject owner of the box, then the possessive pronoun I would use is the word "mine" to express that "I" (the owner) own the box.
Example 2
We bought those tickets, they are ours.
Here the subject who bought the tickets is "we".We therefore use the possessive pronoun ours to show that the "we" in the sentence owns the tickets.
Now its your turn to show possession.
Read the story and fill in the possessive adjectives or pronouns or make nouns possessive by adding " 's ".
