something happens as well as under what conditions something happens.
e.g Describing a verb

Describing an adjective
He drove very fast. How fast did he drive? He drove VERY fast.
Describing another adverb
She moved slowly down the aisle. How slowly did she move?

You'll notice that quite a large majority of adverbs are adjectives that end with -ly
Adding -ly to most adjectives will generally give you an adverb.
e.g
Saying - 'He threw the ball EASY' - would not be correct
However, using the adverb EASILY would make the sentence correct.
This would give you 'He threw the ball EASILY'.
However this is not always the case.
e.g He jumps. How does he jump? He jumps HIGH!
HIGH is an adverb in this case as it describes the verb jump! It doesn't use the suffix
-ly as changing it to HIGHLY would change its meaning.
